Little Chester Street
A terraced house in Belgravia, on the Grosvenor Estate, refurbished and extended throughout, with a consistent quality of material and detail carried from the entrance hall to the upper floors.
Acquired in a state of disrepair, the house suffered from a shortage of natural light. Arya Douge introduced a large glass roof over the existing stair, drawing daylight from second-floor level down through the full height of the house and into the ground-floor kitchen.
Natural materials - Claret marble, oak flooring, veneered joinery, bronze metalwork and honed limestone - were selected to complement the building's original character, with detailing carefully resolved at every junction.
The bathrooms work a layered palette of whites, textured tiling and bespoke cabinetry, giving each room its own character. Glazed finger tiles, natural stone and timber panelling reference the heritage of the house while answering the client's brief.
