Fulham Townhouse
This extensive refurbishment was designed to transform this Fulham property into a modern, light-filled guest house. With a focus on maximising natural light and providing open-plan areas, the renovation aims to foster a sense of spaciousness and fluidity.
Previously a closed-wall staircase that darkened the downstairs space, Arya Douge designed a cantilevered, "floating" open-tread stair to bring light from the second-floor roof light through the house and down into the ground floor kitchen.
The small bathroom space uses a varied palette of white colour tones, textured tiling and crafted cabinets to provide definition and distinction. Key materials, including encaustic cement tiles, limestone, timber panelling and sustainably sourced timber, reflect the heritage of the property while aligning with the client’s sustainable vision.
A feature of the property is the provision of a 1000-bottle, environmentally controlled wine cellar accessed via the main house.
